Welcome! ようこそ!Willkommen! Bienvenue! This site is devoted to multilingual computing for education and personal use. My goal is to provide a venue for the information that I have started collecting over the years about how to make computers speak multiple languages, and help others learn about the new multilingual features of the latest operating systems. There are many sites out there that attend to this issue for one or a small group of languages, but few that provide information on a wide variety of languages. While I do not claim to provide information for even a large number of languages, I hope to provide information for the group of languages that are most often taught in the United States. I begin now with the languages offered at my institution and may expand my coverage as time and knowledge permit. At this point in time, this web site is still very new and small. Currently, only the sections on operating systems are complete with detailed instructions on how to implement the language features of the respective systems. As I have time I will continue to add more information and details about how to configure the systems for specific languages. In the future, I hope to fill in more information as I go along and get time from my other professional duties. I also hope to provide some information about Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and tips on teacher training with technology. I welcome suggestions for additions to this site, though I cannot guarantee the speed with which I can implement them. Thank you for visiting my web site, I hope you find it useful! Carly J. Born
