Research Resourcs for the Study of Virgil

The index of bibliographies available from the journal Vergilius, which is devoted to the study of Virgil. Carleton does not have this journal but St. Olaf does, so anything you find from it should be fairly easily available.

The resources page from the Virgil.org, a site maintained by someone at the University of Chicago with links to bibliography on Virgil as well as material on Augustus, Julius Caesar, and contemporary art.

 TOCS-IN: Tables of Contents of interest to classicists. This is a searchable database that captures words in article titles or author's names in most Classics-oriented periodicals. It only goes back maybe 8 years or so, but it's a great way to start looking for journal articles.

L'Annee Philologique: This is the main periodical index for Classics. The print version, which is in separate volumes by year (going back to the beginning of the century) resides over in the Reference section of the library. A few years are available on-line, though, and these are searchable in cooler ways than the print version allows. They spell our auther with an e though, so you want to make sure to search for VERGIL if you are doing it as an "ancient author" search.
