- Populist Democracy - rule based on support of the working class and middle sectors; depends on dispensation of social goods.
- Incomplete (illiberal) Democracy - young democracies that emerge from prolonged periods of authoritarianism.
- Established Democracy - "consolidated" institutions, elite accountability is high, interest intermediation is well-established.
