• Oligarchical Democracy - dominance by commercial export elite and landed classes.



• Populist Democracy - rule based on support of the working class and middle sectors; depends on dispensation of social goods.



• Incomplete (illiberal) Democracy - young democracies that emerge from prolonged periods of authoritarianism.



• Established Democracy - "consolidated" institutions, elite accountability is high, interest intermediation is well-established.
